The Antimicrobial Experiment for Yellow Staphylococcus on QB Medicinal Deodorant Cream

This experiment is to examine the antimicrobial effect against yellow Staphylococcus, which exists in the armpit in particular, as the body odor carrier, with QB Medicinal Deodorant Cream containing O-Cymen-5-OL, known as a sterilizer.

・The method for the yellow Staphylococcus is to measure the number of viable cells that can be counted when the test extract grown on the sterilized agar culture medium is caked on a Petri dish and cultivated for 24 hours.

・QB Medicinal Deodorant Cream was put on a Petri dish and the test extract was added and mixed for one minute every 24 hours. Subsequently the number of viable cells was counted and the difference recorded.
※Test extract is cultivated with yellow Staphylococcus for 24hours at 37 degrees on the sterilized bacterial growth media and diluted with Physiologisch Kochsalzlosung.

QB Medicinal Deodorant Cream was applied to a Petri dish and the test extract of yellow Staphylococcus was added. After 24 hours incubation the number of viable cells was significantly reduced. In addition to this, even though a new test extract was added each day, the number of cells that remained was still negligible.
According to these results, it has been shown that QB Medicinal Deodorant Cream had a strong sterilizing power which reduced the yellow Staphylococcus with application within 24 hours and it was also testified to endure its effect for at least one week.

Verification for the Reduction of Armpit Odor by QB Medicinal Deodorant Cream

The purpose of this evaluation was to examine the effects of the reduction of armpit odor due to the application of QB Medicinal Deodorant Cream. Seven individuals were chosen from between 20 to 40 years of age for both sexes with verification of certain underarm odor by the Olfactory Measurement Operator. The comparison of the odor was observed four times – "before applying the cream", "immediately after application", "3 days after application" and finally "7 days after application".
The evaluation criteria included a six-stage estimation (Malodorous, Having a Stench, Smelling, Slightly Smelling, Barely Smelling and Odorless) based on the observation by the Olfactory Measurement Operator (Dr. Yasuhiro Saito), and the verification process by the odor test apparatus. QB Cream was applied only to the right armpit and was verified by the transition of measuring on the comparison between both arms by the odor test apparatus.

Due to observation by the operator, an enhanced effect was shown at the right underarm, thus proving the effect of reducing the armpit odor by QB Cream. In addition, referring to the evaluation of the improvement factor referred to before application, its effect continued three days and also seven days later even though the left armpit didn't show any improvement. As a result, this examination demonstrated the durability of the cream. Also according to the evaluation by the odor test apparatus, the results showed an improvement at the right underarm. In addition, the results of measurement both three days and seven days later were almost the same and thus the durability was verified.
Therefore, the effect of the QB Medicinal Deodorant Cream has been anticipated for both safety and the continuous reduction of armpit odor.

≪Primary Skin Irritation Patch Test Results≫

33 individuals over the age of 18 years, both male and female, were chosen to perform the patch test. Each individual applied the QB Medicinal Deodorant Cream on the skin of their backs for 24 hours. The skin stimulation index was then determined after completion of the experiment; both one hour later and then 48 hours later. As a result, all 33 individuals were determined to have the result "No reaction".
